About

Our History in Brief

Grove Printing Corporation was established in 1935 by William W. Grove. It began on Wisconsin Avenue in Washington DC as a letterpress shop. The business eventually moved to Rockville, Maryland where it became known for wedding invitations and Christmas cards along with other social and commercial printing.

Doris Braswell

Doris C. Braswell was hired as a book keeper in 1969 and became president in 1973. Doris purchased the company from William W. Grove’s daughter after he passed away in 1977. She modernized the shop with the purchase of offset printing presses and expanded the already successful social invitation and small commercial printing business.

Steven Braswell

The company flourished under her leadership. Steven L. Braswell, Doris’s son, began to learn the print trade and filled in when the need arose. He later became a full time employee. Together they continued to grow the company.

Move to Kensington

To better suit the expanding company it was moved to its current location at 4225 Howard Avenue in Kensington. They soon acquired larger and more sophisticated equipment including the addition of a full color offset press in 1999. This allowed Grove Printing to better serve their growing customer list and commercial printing business.

New Leadership

In January of 2001 Doris retired leaving the business in a good position to expand even more, which it has under Steve’s leadership. Around this time we began to expand on our growing postcard and flyer business that we are known for today.

Move to Baltimore as Part of Creative Print Group

Steve retired in 2021 and sold Grove to Creative Print Group. We moved to Arbutus, Baltimore, in March of 2021.
